Being a mother is the best thing to have happened to me, and I wouldn’t change anything about it. My girls are sweet and spicy, and they know what they want, and lets just say they’ll be fine in life. We have a sweet Golden Retriever named Waffles, she was given to me by my husband for my 30th birthday, and she’s the most lovable and tolerant dog I’ve ever seen. Which is a plus because my youngest is a little firecracker.
“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your hands.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11
The verse above is something very meaningful to me. I tend to let all the stress and weight of the world sit on my shoulders, even if it’s something I have no control over. It’s something I don’t enjoy, and when I found that verse, I finally gave myself permission to in a way, ignore the rest of the world, not completely obviously, but a lot. Carrying the stress of other peoples problems wasn’t good for me, and didn’t in any way make me a better person, so I implemented a change. I don’t want to miss this time in my kids life, it is so brief, so that’s where my focus is now.
I grew up just outside of Eugene, Oregon, and currently live in Seattle. Though a lot of the time you can find me back on the family farm in Eugene. I want my babies to have a safe place to play, and learn. So we spend a great deal of time there, playing in the dirt!
